yahooGroups hosts over 2 million listed in directory mailing lists
(discussion and announcement). Mailing lists are called "groups" there.
Root of the directory is on http://groups.yahoo.com/ page - request it
via a web-mail server, then request pages with categories you are
interested in, then subcategories, and so on until you see lists of
groups (sorted by quantity of members).
Another way - using search form on the same page http://groups.yahoo.com/
Search results are unsorted.
After you chose a group, request its main page:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/GROUPNAME
Some groups are with open membership, some with restricted membership
(moderator approves subscriptions). In order to subscribe to a group
with open membership or request subscription to a group with restricted
membership, send any (can be empty) letter to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
and reply to letter with
Subject: Please confirm your request to join GROUPNAME
After that you can (if you want) switch to digest mode by
sending any letter to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
Switching back to Individual Emails mode:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
You can temporarily suspend receiving mail from a group:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
(to resume, send to -normal or -digest)
How to unsubscribe: send any letter to
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
and reply to letter with
Subject: Please reply to unsubscribe from GROUPNAME
