A note about Newsmail is that it is possible to run it on a Mercury server
-- I run it on mine -- and create a news-to-mail service of one's own,
with some limits...

... and if users also have Pegasus and add Newspost, they could
potentially post to newsgroups and be able to reply to newsgroup messages
provided via a separate Mercury/Newsmail server like mine. Again, this is
what I do. My situation is a bit different, because I have my own Merc
server -and- Pegasus. But potentially someone with PMail and Newspost
could read from my server and post from Newspost, which sends directly to
a Usenet server.

I don't know that it's necessarily that much larger from a lot of newer
email clients, though. Wonder if one could get PMail via email...

I seem to recall that on at least some of Martin Ireland's programs, you
can request an automatic email delivery of the program. Used to be able
to, anyway.

Also note that Martin has a program called RSSMail that creates RSS
listings that can show up in email -- which I've also gotten (mostly)
working off my server. Doesn't work all that well as a server-based
program, but it is quite useable as an add-on to Pegasus as it is designed
to be. And Martin has an RSS feed from his website showing his latest
versions when they're updated.

Martin is currently working on an updated version of Newspost with more
batch-processing capabilities -- some of which come from my suggestions
(he said humbly).
