In the Home Page I read among other things that:

"YPOPs! is an application that provides POP3 access to Yahoo! Mail."

"Yahoo! Mail disabled free access to its POP3 service o­n 24th 
April, 2002."

Only to say that a Yahoo.it account supplies pop3/smtp access 
directly via mailer. Maybe this possibility is available also on 
other Yahoo domains.
