I am very grateful to Ramiro Ochoa, who has found a solution
to this problem -- three months ago!

I had imagined a major programming task, but all that was
needed was a simple edit in the Perl code.

Please everybody, test the edit -- I *really* do not have
time to do it properly myself (I know this may sound absurd,
but it is true).
