Hi folks Just to confirm, West Sussex County Council made the announcement at the Pagham Harbour Advisory Board on Tuesday night that they have approached us (the RSPB) to start formal discussions over this. Their statement and Q&As are here http://www.westsussex.gov.uk/ccm/content/environment/the-west-sussex-cou ntryside/the-coastal-plain/pagham-harbour-local-nature-reserve/news.en <http://www.westsussex.gov.uk/ccm/navigation/environment/the-west-sussex -countryside/the-coastal-plain/pagham-harbour-local-nature-reserve/> , although it's worth emphasising that it is very early days in the process so there are many questions neither the Council nor we yet know the answers to. For us our job now is to go through what we call 'due diligence' where we find out everything we need to and speak to everyone we need to. The bottom line for us is to ensure such an important place has a secure future. Will keep you updated Adrian ------------------------------------------------ Adrian Thomas Communications Officer RSPB South East (Brighton) Office Tel: 01273 763610 Mobile: 07773 567 396 E-mail: adrian.tho...@rspb.org.uk The RSPB speaks out for birds and wildlife, tackling the problems that threaten our environment.
