Bismillah hir rahmaan nir raheem
Assalaamu alaykum wa rahmatuallahi wa barakatuhu

I wrote in earlier message that 113 bismillah are not counted as verses
.........

My mistake was ,instead of writing 113 ,i should have written 112 bismillah
are not counted as verses because Bismillah of Surah fatiha is considered as
ayah/verse....I apologise for my Mistake.

One view is held by some scholars is that only Bismillah of surah fatiha is
considered as ayah whereas Bismillah of rest of the ayahs are not considered as
ayah.

Whereas many sahaba considered "Bismillah hir rahmaan nir raheem " as verse
for each surah excluding Surah Tawbah

Please read the correct understanding regarding this issue.

Point 1.The whole Quran has 6,236 verses

  There are 114 chapters/surah's

one surah ,surah tawbah does not have bismillah

Rest of the surah's have bismillah,so 113 surah has bismillah.
The bismillah of surah fatiha is counted as ayah, and rest of the bismillah
which are 112 in number at the begining of surah's are not counnted as verse. If
we go by this method then there are 6,236 verses.

Point 2.Sahaba did considered Bismillah as verse,so by excluding surah Taubah
which does not have "Bismillah" the total number is 113 Bismillah plus 6235
verses concluding 6348.

  Allah says in Quran

15:87 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-Repeated (verses) and the
Grand Qur'an.

Sahih Al-Bukhari HadithHadith 6.1 Narrated byAbu Said bin Al Mualla
While I was praying in the Mosque, Allah's Apostle called me but I did not
respond to him. Later I said, "O Allah's Apostle! I was praying." He said,
"Didn't Allah say, 'Give your response to Allah (by obeying Him) and to His
Apostle when he calls you.' " (8.24)
He then said to me, "I will teach you a Sura which is the greatest Sura in
the Qur'an, before you leave the Mosque." Then he got hold of my hand, and
when he intended to leave (the Mosque), I said to him, "Didn't you say to me,
'I will teach you a Sura which is the greatest Sura in the Quran?' " He
said, "Al-Hamdu-Lillah Rabbi-l-Alamin (i.e. Praise be to Allah, the Lord of
the worlds) which is Al-Sab'a Al-Mathani (i.e. seven repeatedly recited
Verses) and the Grand Qur'an which has been given to me."

1.In the name of Allah Most Gracious Most Merciful.
2 Praise be to Allah the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds.
  3 Most Gracious Most Merciful.
4 Master of the Day of Judgment.
5 Thee do we worship and Thine aid we seek.
6 Show us the straight way.
7 The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace Those whose (portion)
is not wrath and who go not astray.

Bismillah is the First Ayah of Al-Fatihah :tafsir by by ibn kathir

The Companions started the Book of Allah with Bismillah:

  (1. In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.)

The scholars also agree that Bismillah is a part of an Ayah in Surat An-Naml
(chapter 27). They disagree over whether it is a separate Ayah before every
Surah, or if it is an Ayah, or a part of an Ayah, included in every Surah where
the Bismillah appears in its beginning. Ad-Daraqutni also recorded a Hadith
from Abu Hurayrah from the Prophet that supports this Hadith by Ibn Khuzaymah.
Also, similar statements were attributed to `Ali, Ibn `Abbas and others.

The opinion that Bismillah is an Ayah of every Surah, except Al-Bara'ah
(chapter 9), was attributed to (the Companions) Ibn `Abbas, Ibn `Umar, Ibn
Az-Zubayr, Abu Hurayrah and `Ali. This opinion was also attributed to the
Tabi`in: `Ata', Tawus, Sa`id bin Jubayr, Makhul and Az-Zuhri. This is also the
view of `Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak, Ash-Shafi`i, Ahmad bin Hanbal, (in one report
from him) Ishaq bin Rahwayh and Abu `Ubayd Al-Qasim bin Salam. On the other
hand, Malik, Abu Hanifah and their followers said that Bismillah is not an Ayah
in Al-Fatihah or any other Surah. Dawud said that it is a separate Ayah in the
beginning of every Surah, not part of the Surah itself, and this opinion was
also attributed to Ahmad bin Hanbal.

The whole Quran has 6,236 verses and not 6666

  Al-Tirmidhi HadithHadith 42 -Narrated byAl-Miqdad-Al-Miqdad heard Allah's
Messenger (peace be upon him) as saying: There will not remain upon the surface
of the earth a mud-brick house or a camel's-hair tent but Allah will instill
into it the word of Islam, bringing both mighty honour and abject humiliation.
Allah will either honour them by making them worthy of it and those whom He
humiliates shall have to render submission to it. I said: The religion will
then be entirely for Allah.Transmitted by Ahmad.
