[Aide] sha256 Value

I am running RHEL 5.1 (2.6.10-194) aide 0.13.1

I am trying to understand the format of the sha256 value in the db file. I
have it being checked on my system but the value in the db file does not
equate to the output of sha256sum. How is the sha256 value provided and
checked?
