Now that some bugs are fixed and I can edit places it doable:-)
1) right click where you want your default position
2) paste the coordinates
3) goto the list of places,
4) edit the first place with just colons, and all places with a red globe
5) use the paste button to assign the desired coordinates
But through preferences would be better from a maintenance point of view.
When new places can't be found you would have to go through the same
procedure.
