Bob, >I consider myself an Expert doing digital signal acquisition and >processing on microcontrollers an PCs in c. Last few weeks I've found >out that non of that helps me learn java. Zilch. Zero. Nada. I bet >they used c in phones 10 years ago. Whose idea was it to switch >everything to java?!?
I can speak about why people would use JAVA at the system level, since at the system level you know what the OS is and what the hardware architecture is. But anything that you have to download to zillions of phones running different OSes on different hardware architectures, JAVA is probably a fair choice of language. They used "C" in phones ten years ago because memory was too expensive and processors were too slow for JAVA. md -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Beginners" group.
