Actually, your comments about Rand and Nietsche were interesting. I didn't realize that Andromeda was combining normally adverse philosophical points of view. I have not studied either writer very much (as must be evident from the fact I have trouble listing their books).
As for Tyr's reading list, I believe Dylan gave us a clue in "The Prince", when he told Tyr that he (Dylan) had also read Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, and some other warrior-philosopher/whatever.
