I'm a non coder and animata works fine for me. Sure, its not as feature rich as commercial software, but its free and it does what its designed to do. Can't express my gratitude enough for this amazing tool. As far as saving, you can save animata files just fine, and import them as layers into other animata projects. If you need output, you can always record your screen. Also in case you don't know the viewer window can be made full screen with the spacebar.
