[AO announcement] AOFD book updates

Dear All,

I have slowly started the long process of preparing a second edition of my 
book, Atmospheric and Oceanic Fluid Dynamics. It will be at least a couple of 
years before this is finalized. From time to time I will be posting material to 
the web, in the hope of receiving comments from readers. The web site is:

I have just posted a couple of draft chapters on equatorial dynamics, including 
the Matsuno-Gill problem and dynamics of equatorial ocean circulation. Please 
take a look if you have time, and pass this email on to anyone you think may be 
interested, especially students and postdocs. I would be very grateful to 
receive any comments you may have on this material, and suggestions for other 
material to be included or omitted.
