Oct 11 (Interfax) - The Republic of Abkhazia said it is concerned about Georgia's increasing military capabilities, thanks to U.S. and NATO programs in the country. "The active role the U.S. and other NATO countries are playing in helping Georgia increase its military capabilities is worrisome," Abkhazia's Defense Minister Raul Khadzhimba told Interfax on Friday. He said that Georgia is receiving sophisticated military hardware, and its officers are being trained in the West. NATO has sent its military advisors and provided financing for training exercises. The alliance is effectively helping Georgia create a navy.
