It has been our experience that we do not have a say in how much we receive for
our apples unless we sell them by the side of the road. Once the crop goes to
the warehouse they sell them to the grocer or for juice and we get what we get
without a say in what that price should be. If all the warehouses were to
agree as to what price to sell the boxes of fruit for, the government says that
is price fixing and is illegal. I think the price is adjusted by panic and
greed. So we buy our spray and fertilizer products retail and sell our crop
wholesale. I call that nuts!
