I no longer get errors from autoheader and automake, but I still got the errors from autoconf. I tried on a hunch 'cp aclocal.m4 misc' and then autoconf runs fine. Seems it's not finding aclocal.m4 in the current dir when it's been set to look in misc? You're right, I'm running debian sid :) Potato is too far out of date now.. Brian
