No, this is a gcc3.3 bug - a regression from gcc3.2. It's broken, and neither the aspseek nor the gcc guys can work it out. Build at -g3 to get it to work, build at -g2 or -g to get entirely different behaviour - all empty search results, with pretty much the lowest possible signed int as the sign. If you can track this down, I'll be forever in your debt. Really.
