The Social Calendar for November 1674

Autumn crowns the trees with golden glory, and most of Paris must be 
beholden with this sight - how else could one imagine the low turnout of 
social events this month? Or should it be that every poor christian soul is 
hiding behind his warm fireplace, unwilling to brave the chill november fog 
for a sparkling drink and a radiant smile?
I, at any rate, am happy to follow the call of duty and spend my time with 
the upper echelons of nobility. Yes, the Fleur will ring with laughter and 
bold challenges no matter what storms may rage outside its stained glass 
windows...
And now and then, a toast and a mournful sigh may go out to those stalwart 
souls fighting for France in the meantime.
