Lt. General le Duc Coward de Custaad, OC. Horse Guards, to
Lt. General le Chevalier E.J. Ware, Adjutant-General
Dear Chevalier,
I am writing in sympathy to your recent accident. I was as shocked as any
gentleman in Paris to hear that by some tragic twist of fate your tongue
had to be surgically removed after a mysterious series of events involving
your pet poodle and an oddly shaped turnip.
Since you can no longer speak you will of course be unable to continue in
your service to His Majesty as Adjutant-General. However, with modern
medical marvels I hear you can now get prosthetic tongues and I am given to
understand that these so called "false tongues" usually cause no
advancement restrictions in a selection of civil appointments. Therefore, I
would like to wish you a very speedy recovery and every success in your any
future career.
Best wishes,
Duc Coward de Custaad
