Well yes, we run a OS on the nodes, what would you propose instead?
  
Aw come on, you know what I meant by this.
We'll sell you a cluster either running of local disk or network boot
with ramdisk and some NFS, I actually prefer the former however.
  
Well, it's one of those "it depends" with size Vs Power Vs Cooling Vs 
manageability Vs network fabric optimization question.
