Not directly related to bikes (or BCGP) but it is to transportation and no service does mean no access to transit.

As many of you who use transit know, SEPTA is threatening to cut all weekend service and raise fares over 20%. Currently there are two bills in the PA Senate and House that will address dedicated funding for all public transportation agencies.

On the Senate side all local Philadelphia State Senators are sponsoring that bill. However on the house side many of our local representatives have failed so far to sign on,

Take a look at the following map, Cartographer Steve Spindler has mapped the co-sponsors of the House Bill.

You can contact your state house rep through project vote smart. Ask them to co-sponsor hb2697 to provide dedicated funding for mass transit.

http://www.vote-smart.org/ and type in your zip+4 (available from http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp ) the entire list of your reps down to state house level should appear. This should provide contact information and a link to the reps website.
