(FYI -- hope this is clear, and proper cc'd to all for clarity's sake--McG) memo to Peter Rosenfeld re latest bike lane questions. 8/14/02 Greetings. Thanks again, Peter, for your interest. Can you please state the nature and form that this "national discussion" will take? Will there be illustrations? Where is it happening? Who is moderating it? Will it be archived? How will it be/is it being distributed? By "representing the region's position," do you mean the BCGP's, yours, or the local streets authorities'? Do you have a timeline, a work product goal/format, a final report date? Do you have any local liasons, or other helpers/editors? Any funding or political capital to work with? What organizations/individuals are you currently working with, that might qualify this as a "national discussion"? What is the "carrot" (benefit) for the BCGP and the bicycling community in continuing this discussion? It's really time to get some specifics from you on the above, on your qualifications, and of course, about your actual goals. (contact numbers/fax/addresses/titles are especially welcome) In the absence of these, I can't see any real reason to spend further time researching this issue for the sake of an email discussion. (I'm speaking here as Michael McGettigan, not as a BCGP board member, though my personal opinion is that they have much more important work to do at this time, and should perhaps consider this answer a sufficient response.) We have some serious time constraints, as we all have jobs, lives, etc... and again, speaking for myself, I don't have unlimited time to answer the email equivalent of weekly interrogatories... Looking forward to your supplying the info requested above. My opinion is that until we have it, any further debate is unproductive. thanks and cheers McGettigan ---- You are receiving this because you are subscribed to the Bicycle Coalition of the Delaware Valley list named "bike."
