The bike list will be changing it's address shortly. The changes are
explained at <http://www.purple.com/bike/>, which I'm also including
below for ease of morning mail reading.

If you want to unsubscribe, or if you know someone who wants to be
added to the list, please see <http://www.purple.com/lists.html>, just
as before.

                                                        The Bike List

                                    Bike

The bike list is now at list.purple.com

The bike list lived for many years at bcdv.org, a domain owned by
the Bicycle Coalition of Greater Philadelphia, formerly the Bicycle
   Coalition of the Delaware Valley.

On 27 August 2002 I received a note asking me to move the bike list
away from bcdv.org, as the BC (Bicycle Coalition) no longer wanted
to have an open list of all cyclists. It sounds like they will
shortly create a list of their members.

Thus, the new home for the bike list.

What's changed

As far as I can tell, there's very little change. The list is still
administered by the same person and on the same server.

If you've set up automatic filters to help yourself deal with mail
from the bike list, though, please note that you'll want to add
filters for the new domain: [EMAIL PROTECTED] instead of
   [EMAIL PROTECTED]

What's the same

First, and most important, the bike list is still the same forum for
discussing issues related to cycling in the Philadelphia region. The
BC board members, staff, and volunteers who were subscribed before
are still subscribed. (And those who weren't still aren't.)
Subscription is open to anyone who can receive mail. No one will be
removed by force except on horrid abuse. And even then they would
   only be prevented from posting.

For the time being, mail sent to the old address,
[EMAIL PROTECTED], will continue to forward to the new location.
Since bcdv.org is technically owned by the BC, it is eventually up
to them whether or not that address continues to forward. But as
long as this volunteer continues to donate the server space for
list.bcdv.org, the address is likely to continue to forward.
