PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULED ON PLAN TO REPLACE CLOVER MILL ROAD BRIDGE

1/29/04-KING OF PRUSSIA

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) today announced
that a
public meeting will be held on Monday (February 2) at 7 p.m. to discuss
the
plan to replace the Clover Mill Road Bridge over Pickering Creek in West
Pikeland Township, Chester County.

The meeting will be held in the West Pikeland Township Building at 1208
Kimberton Road in Chester Springs.

PennDOT plans to replace the existing bridge with a single span,
prestressed
concrete box beam bridge. The new bridge will have two 12-foot travel
lanes
and two 2-foot shoulders.

The existing two-span, steel girder bridge was built in 1937. It has a
wood
deck with an asphalt overlay. The structure is 22 feet wide and 81 feet
long.
It carries 1,101 vehicles a day.
