NJ TRANSIT has launched a new website for the River Line www.riverline.com. The trains are
expected to go into service on March 14. Test trains are running along the
line on regular schedules which initially will be every half hour. The
introductory fare from Camden to Trenton is $1.10 (vs $7 for the R7). You can
connect from the city via PATCO ($1.15) or ride your bike over the bridge and
pick up the train at Rutgers Camden (2nd and Cooper).
The official bike policy is posted on the website: Bicycles are permitted onboard the River Line at all times. Customers must secure bicycles on racks located in light rail cars. Cyclists must allow other passengers to exit and enter the rail car before boarding with a bicycle. (Maximum of 6 bikes per car.) |
