Letters | Bridge, not tram, deserves DRPA's attention

The bus to Philadelphia is $1.20, and the PATCO High-Speed Line is close to that. The RiverLink ferry is losing money. The Delaware River Port Authority thinks that people are going to lay out $8 for a tram - basically an amusement ride ("Full speed ahead on tram, DRPA says," July 2)?

The port authority should be more concerned with getting the walking path on the north side of the Ben Franklin Bridge widened where it has been made so narrow that two bicycles can't even be walked past each other. They can't even secure the paths to keep them open 24 hours a day.

It is amazing how the authority can find ways to spend money on projects when something basic, such as a walking path on a bridge, can't receive high priority.
