Hi
all!
I need
digital photos of SEPTA bike lockers and a street crossing of the Perkiomen
trail where there is a cross walk that is painted with dashed white lines and
curves to direct people back on to the trail. I have a photo of this from John
Boyle, but it is difficult to see the trail. If no one has a different photo,
but they can tell me where this is, I can go take another. Thanks!
I don't know if anyone has seen was has been
going on in 291 in Chester City, but it appears that they are expanding the
road from two lanes to five right in the heart of Chester. This is the signed
route E and to my knowledge this road will not be getting bike lanes. They
razed dozens if not hundreds of structures and now residents to the west of
291 will have to cross 5 lanes of traffic to get to the soon to be revitalized
waterfront. I looked at the Chester County Webpage and this project
was proposed in 1955.
We can talk about smart growth, transit oriented
development and neighborhood revitalization, but the decision makers in our
region can't seem to let go of the 1950's approach to "urban renewal". Too bad
for the residents of Chester .
