The outer-- or 'top' or 'guard' coat is the normal coat-- it is the softer, fuzzier undercoat that is what insulates from the winter cold. Just make sure your animals have sufficient access to ventilation, fresh water and shade-- they were intended to be in triple digit heat. Don't coddle them, but do watch for their well-being.
