This may explain the reason my ewes raise such small lambs. My weaning weights are at best 30 lbs. after 4 to 5 months. Perhaps this is genetics. I think I have one ewe that is part LaMancha. That would explain her tiny ears and she gives a lot of milk and raises the largest lambs.

It could possibly depend on the ewe, but I have milked a few ewes over the years for colostrum with no problem getting at least 8 ounces 4 X a day.
