Hi, Basically, bottle jaw is a swelling under the jaw when a sheep (or other animal) is heavily invested with worms. This descirption is from an Austrailian site: http://www.dpi.qld.gov.au/sheep/12207.html "Barberâs pole worms suck blood. Stock carrying heavy infestations show anaemia and are slow to muster. The âstragglersâ at the tail of the mob carry the highest worm burdens and are the most severely affected sheep in the mob. If anaemia is severe, a swelling under the jaw called âbottle jawâ develops. Acute infestations of young stock can result in deaths, sometimes within four weeks of rain and often without any visual evidence of infestation." I'm not familiar with the disease. Thanks.
