Wow! Carol! Thanks for the advise cause we will know what can happen.

All I can say is, that we will try to see if Yasha will respect us. If not then we will have to do something else I guess. Maybe the ram shield would work......He is really a beautiful ram, marked perfectly and we wanted him to be the ram for our herd....which is small right now. It was funny in a way I was thinking I needed a real shield for me to go into the pen with....hahahahha A real strong one!

We only have three ewes now (we lost one black one the other day) and one is a cross of Suffolk/Dorset...

The Blackbellies are so beautifully marked and delicate...they reminded me of antelope the first time I saw them. We have an all black one (Hannah)which is called a"Black Hawiaain",( I've been told), which is the daughter of another one that died the other day( Yisabelle)...all black....She was bred with a light colored AB before we bought her and the result was a beautiful light caramel and beige ewe with the blackbelly markings. She (Rachel) and (Hannah) are now being bred by Yasha...He is brown with the blackbelly markings.

When we got the black ones they reminded me of black deer...

We started out with the Suffolk/Dorsette wool sheep but when we bought the 2 black hair sheep they were so much more beautiful and easier to care for...for several reasons that we have sold all but one wool ewe, she was our first lamb and a bottle baby, and her little ram lamb to switch to the blackbellys...We were given Yasha because he was regected by his mom and we raised him...

We have not had any blackbellys for sale yet so not sure how that will go around here....We started raising our animals....sheep, goats, chickens & guineas because we wanted clean meat, milk and eggs...first, and then if we have some to sell also that will be a plus.
