I was thinking that they probably used 2-4-D rather than roundup. It's a very common herbicide, kills broadleaf plants but leaves grasses alone. I think some people use "Roundup" generically, in the same way people used to say "Xerox" instead of "photocopy". I wouldn't assume that 2-4-D is any safer than roundup...

And I wouldn't drink any of it.
