...Maybe due to the fact that the CD iso you're using mean to install Etch, not Sarge (I suppose the current daily netboot.iso do so too)? Just some idea: isn't it possible to replace the word testing or so in /etc/apt/sources.list by stable or sarge ? Or, if this is not possible at the beginning of the script run, should it be easier for our development to choose for installing a testing instead of losing time with fixing problems ? Just let's think about it: if the current testing is quite stable, it may be a good idea to go for it; if not, then OK we will give you the time to fix the problem. IMHO stable is better, but we can't spend time with fixing problems while we have a demo on June. Also in a few months or so the next stable Debian should be ready for release: if too much difficulties with installing a stable, I agree to discuss about other options you think will be better.
