This is the feedback of installation with grml-inst_plain_deb-0.2.0.sh as downloaded here: http://brlspeak.net/blinux/grml-inst_plain_deb-0.2.0.sh I did chmod +x, then I runned dhclient since this is a problem on many live cds... layout of installer-script is OK for me; (there are some info who can't be read due to the fluent speed, but it's OK.) I puted grub on my fd0 and the installer was able to do it right, (I'm editing this feedback log file from withing my blindia system) also after installation we seem to have immediately internet connection due to the dhclient who is active while it isn't under grml-cd. I also was able to turn grml into blindia as hostname during installation. I was able to choose timezone, apt setup for belnet and configuring exim etc, after he started base-config. Unfortunately, with base-config installation + conf take now much more than ten minutes ... I failed to reconfig the locales but that's why I pressed enter instead of selecting with a space some locale. The installer falled back to the standard "C" locale as long as no one is configured. I failed to escape from the base-config since it loops and loops again; but this seem not to be a big problem: I just opened a new console to reboot the system, and it does boot okay. Also I was able to log into my new blindia system as root or user with their pass as I entered during the base-config. This is my typescript as example of log: Script started on Fri May 19 12:12:58 2006 blindia:~# lsmod Module Size Used by af_packet 20872 2 ide_cd 38176 0 cdrom 35740 1 ide_cd evdev 9088 0 floppy 54992 0 pcspkr 3816 0 rtc 12088 0 emu10k1 71812 0 sound 75308 1 emu10k1 8139cp 19072 0 i810_audio 33300 0 ac97_codec 16908 2 emu10k1,i810_audio hw_random 5652 0 uhci_hcd 29328 0 shpchp 87148 0 pciehp 83948 0 pci_hotplug 30640 2 shpchp,pciehp intel_agp 20512 0 intel_mch_agp 10000 1 agpgart 31784 2 intel_agp,intel_mch_agp emu10k1_gp 3840 0 snd_emu10k1 80776 0 snd_util_mem 4608 1 snd_emu10k1 snd_hwdep 9092 1 snd_emu10k1 8139too 23936 0 mii 4864 2 8139cp,8139too sd_mod 20480 0 aic7xxx 176088 0 ipv6 229892 9 snd_intel8x0 33068 0 snd_ac97_codec 59268 2 snd_emu10k1,snd_intel8x0 snd_pcm 85384 2 snd_emu10k1,snd_intel8x0 snd_timer 23300 1 snd_pcm snd_page_alloc 11144 3 snd_emu10k1,snd_intel8x0,snd_pcm gameport 4736 2 emu10k1_gp,snd_intel8x0 snd_mpu401_uart 7296 1 snd_intel8x0 snd_rawmidi 23204 2 snd_emu10k1,snd_mpu401_uart snd_seq_device 7944 2 snd_emu10k1,snd_rawmidi snd 50660 10 snd_emu10k1,snd_util_mem,snd_hwdep,snd_intel8x0,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm,snd_timer,snd_mpu401_uart,snd_rawmidi,snd_seq_device soundcore 9824 4 emu10k1,sound,i810_audio,snd ata_piix 7812 0 libata 36228 1 ata_piix scsi_mod 115148 3 sd_mod,aic7xxx,libata ehci_hcd 27908 0 usbcore 104164 4 uhci_hcd,ehci_hcd capability 4872 0 commoncap 7168 1 capability ext3 109544 2 jbd 54552 1 ext3 reiserfs 209872 0 ide_generic 1664 0 piix 12448 1 ide_disk 16768 4 ide_core 125028 4 ide_cd,ide_generic,piix,ide_disk unix 26036 16 font 8576 0 vesafb 6688 0 cfbcopyarea 3840 1 vesafb cfbimgblt 3200 1 vesafb cfbfillrect 3712 1 vesafb blindia:~# whereis brltty brltty: /sbin/brltty /etc/brltty.conf /etc/brltty /lib/brltty /usr/share/man/man1/brltty.1.gz blindia:~# cat /etc/modules # /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time. # # This file should contain the names of kernel modules that are # to be loaded at boot time, one per line.
