This weekend, 19/20 April, GB Women will be playing in the European Elite
Series 1, where the national teams from Germany, Switzerland, and Italy will be
coming to face off in the first of a series of competitive women's tournaments.
The first one will take place this weekend on Wimbledon Common on both Saturday
and Sunday beginning at 10 am Saturday (it is the same venue as Tour 0
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=sw15+3dt&jsv=107&ie=UTF8&ll=51.435283,-0.246763&spn=0.013163,0.040169&z=15&iwloc=addr)

This is a great chance to come and support GB Women in their preparation for
Worlds as well as a great chance to get taking photos of British women for our
photography competition!!! See below for details (if you haven't seen them
already, or need a reminder). Plus, this is the only EES that will be taking
place in the UK.

The Great Britain Women's Ultimate Frisbee team invites you to submit digital
photographs for possible publication in their groundbreaking magazine
highlighting women in sport, and on GBwomensultimate.com. We will accept
submissions beginning on 1 April 2008 and ending at midnight on 16 June 2008.

The photo competition will be judged by Jon Jones of The Times of London,
Secretary of State for Culture, Media, and Sport Andy Burnham, and Lucia
Griggi, female surfer and surf photographer. The winning photos will be
printed in a summer magazine which will feature articles from leading
international female athletes such as Hope Powell, FA National Women's Coach,
and Stephanie Temperton, current holder of the Women's Pairs record for Rowing
across the Atlantic.

Although the winning photos from each category will be published in a magazine
distributed this summer around Britain and at the World Ultimate Frisbee
Championships in Vancouver, Canada in August 2008, a selection of recent photo
submissions will also be showcased on our website every fortnight.

Photos should celebrate active British women. They can be photos of:

 · Grass roots to elite athletes

· Individuals, teams, women in women's only or mixed gender teams

· "British" women as defined by residency in Britain

· British women competing in Britain or abroad

· "Sport" defined as unsanctioned or recreational physical activity to highly
competitive and recognized athletic events

So enter and celebrate fit, confident active women, and highlight your team,
sport, activity, friend, colleague, or even yourself!

You may choose from the following categories of submission:

    * Raising the Game
    * Spirit of the Game
    * The Moment
    * Faces
    * Creative Visions
    * Masters (40+)

PLEASE NOTE: We are currently still finding a donor who will offer a prize for
the competition, and hope that we can fulfill this. Rather than wait until we
have this finalized, we wanted to spread the word about the competition and
realize that our limited prize offering may reduce the number of photographers
interested in entering.

We are working hard to make the competition exciting for photographers but
realize that we will most likely attract those who are passionate about our
case: the celebration of hard-working, active, under-funded, and
under-represented women in Britain. Please show your support by entering our
competition.
