Grub and linux and big kernel 2.3.33.
How big can kernel images in linux be for Grub to handle them.(lilo cant handle my
1.8mb kernel...
And how would the syntax be for my my machine if i want the boot loader to be on
/dev/hda5
how would i get Grub there... And i also want it to boot from there /dev/hda5 vmlinux !
And how do i make an Brub bootable floppy disk in linux? Doesnt seem to work in linux
whn doing:
$ cd /lib/grub/i386-pc
$ dd if=stage1 of=/dev/fd0 bs=512 count=1
1+0 records in - these is correct to my console output
1+0 records out - these is correct to my console output
$ dd if=stage2 of=/dev/fd0 bs=512 seek=1
67+1 records in - i get 102+1 records in....
67+1 records out - i get 102+1 rcords out
And i cant mount the the floppy in linux either using regular exfts2(did think so :-)
) and not dos
fat12 format either... Becuase i must copy stage* to floppy /boot/grub !?
Anyway i hope this was to much to ask!
