If you mean your suggestions to change the tone of the document, then
I didn't see the reply.  Suggestions that come without patches are
dropped on the floor unless somebody else on the list cares about them
enough to make a patch (which usually means there is some critical
problem that needs to be fixed).  Yes, Multiboot is PC-centric, but I
doubt that will change until somebody implements it on another
architecture.

That's the main reason why your patches were integrated so happily.
But I assume you already know that.

Okuji wrote ``shit'' to express how annoying it was to deal with the
Linux video support.  Rather than people saying ``using that word
makes GRUB seem unprofessional,'' they implied that ``Linux can't be

Hence the misunderstandings that led up to your decision to drop
GRUB.

I certainly hope that you will reconsider, or at least feel that you
have made some contributions that got the recognition they deserve.

It's not arrogance, though it may seem that way.  It's simply that
everybody works under different constraints, and without realizing
that you don't see the whole picture, it's easy to have arguments.

I say this both ways.  I'm sure there are things in your life that
make work difficult, or else you probably wouldn't be as upset about
the terse comments of another busy developer.

If you still want this, it can be done, but I hope that you will let
us acknowledge that you spent time on GRUB.  The other reason for
THANKS is so that when we, say, want to follow up on idea you put
forward, we know your e-mail address.
