Follow-up Comment #5, bug #17882 (project grub): Ariel, on which BIOS have you tested the patch? I was trying booting using grub on the Asus0614/jmicron1.06.22 from the sata drive (should be in first 8 - so without patch), but no luck.
Then I've found on the JMicron site a note that only "JMB bios 1.06.53 or above" supports grub. I was not using that, so I upgraded the P5B DLX's bios to 1004 (which contains the jmicron bios v.1.06.59) - http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=P5B%20Deluxe This solved the booting from SATA ports of the JMicron controller. Maybe it will help for the others who use the PATA part of it and the 16-drive patch. Please test that somebody, I have no PATA disk. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <http://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?17882> _______________________________________________ Message sent via/by Savannah http://savannah.gnu.org/ _______________________________________________ Bug-grub mailing list [email protected] http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-grub
