Hello,

I tried to test the following translation:
http://translationproject.org/PO-files/fi/grub-1.97+20100124.fi.po

I dropped it to grub-1.97+20100124 source code as an fi.po file to po
directory.

Then I run the following commands: 

./autogen.sh
./configure --prefix=/usr/local
make
sudo make install

After that I could find the following new programs:

/usr/local/bin/grub-bin2h
/usr/local/bin/grub-editenv
/usr/local/bin/grub-fstest
/usr/local/bin/grub-mkelfimage
/usr/local/bin/grub-mkimage
/usr/local/bin/grub-mkisofs
/usr/local/bin/grub-mkpasswd-pbkdf2
/usr/local/bin/grub-mkrelpath
/usr/local/bin/grub-mkrescue
/usr/local/bin/grub-script-check
/usr/local/sbin/grub-install
/usr/local/sbin/grub-mkconfig
/usr/local/sbin/grub-mkdevicemap
/usr/local/sbin/grub-probe
/usr/local/sbin/grub-reboot
/usr/local/sbin/grub-set-default
/usr/local/sbin/grub-setup

and I could also find

/usr/local/share/locale/fi/LC_MESSAGES/grub.mo

But anyway, when I tried to test any of the program above, they are still in
English:

jormaxxx$ /usr/local/sbin/grub-probe --help
Usage: /usr/local/sbin/grub-probe [OPTION]... [PATH|DEVICE]

Probe device information for a given path (or device, if the -d option is
given).

  -d, --device              given argument is a system device, not a path
  -m, --device-map=FILE     use FILE as the device map
[default=/boot/grub/device.map]
  -t, --target=(fs|fs_uuid|drive|device|partmap|abstraction)
                            print filesystem module, GRUB drive, system
device, partition map module or abstraction module [default=fs]
  -h, --help                display this message and exit
  -V, --version             print version information and exit
  -v, --verbose             print verbose messages

When I'm trying to test for example flex
(http://translationproject.org/PO-files/fi/flex-2.5.34.fi.po), then everything
is OK:

jo...@jorma-laptop:/usr/local/bin$ flex --help
Käyttö: flex [VALITSIMET] [TIEDOSTO]...
Luo ohjelmia, jotka suorittavat tekstin mallintäsmäystä.

Taulutiivistys:
  -Ca, --align      kompromissi laajoissa taulukoissa parempaa muistitasausta
varten
  -Ce, --ecs        rakenna ekvivalenssiluokkia
  -Cf               älä tiivistä tauluja; käytä valitsinta -f
esittelyyn
  -CF               älä tiivistä tauluja; käytä valitsinta -F
esittelyyn
  -Cm, --meta-ecs   rakenna meta-ekvivalenssiluokkia

etc.

So, my environment should be ok. There is obviously something wrong with the
grub configuration.
