Deside whether you want linux or windows.

1) Windows:

If you want windows, boot with windows CD and try giving
/fixmbr

2) If you want linux, just do grub-install .

            Hey,

You can do the following to reinstate the Operating system.

1. boot up the live CD

 2. find the partition Numbers for linux partitions ( fdisk -l )

 3. mount the Linux partitions (especially / and /boot)

 4. issue a chroot on /

 5. edit the /boot/grub/grub. conf ( modify the particion Number found in step
2. and take off old windows entry )

 6. issue grub-install to reinstall grub in MBR or desired partition.
