Hello,

I just got a new NEC ND-3540A writer and some Verbatim 16x DVD+R media. I
can't seem to write them at 16x in Linux though, cdrecord-ProDVD offers
6x as maximum and even that starts off at 4x for the first 800 MB or so
and then accelerates to 6x. I notice with -prcap (output follows) the
maximum write speed is given as 6x. But Nero in Windows did write at
16x, or actually it wrote ~3 GB in five minutes, which is about 8x. Nero
too offered only 6x until I put a 16x disc in the drive and then 8x and
16x appeared in the list as well. So how can I get more speed in Linux?

Anssi
