one additionally idea to adding foldersharing and hostbrowsing. If you want to tranfer a file really private to a user, there should always be (the already existing function)
* Transfering File [1] As well then there should be - as mailed - * sending "hashlink + my IP" to a buddy (or a group of buddies) [2] to have a transfer with SWARMING to all BUDDIES, though with golden rule, that chunks are as well available to peers of a (the ed2k) public network. and: * Sending Hashlink to a buddy (without my IP) to download from peers of the edonkey network [3] This way we could have one way to transfer a file secure to one buddy. But only one file and without swarming. This is called transfer. Then we would have the way to send a buddy a file, which is not on the public network, and i sent it with hashlink plu my ip to a buddy, which then can load. If this buddy is forwarding this link (with HIS ip or without) to third buddies, then they can swarm from me as well, as still there is a partial transfer given of chunks (golden rule: a MUST upload of partials for file sending). Third, there could be a normal public hashlink-copy-out function, which is e.g. the ed2k link, which then could be swarmed from the emule-kademlia net in pyhton. MY source then is just one peer, found or not. So.. sending ed2k links in chatwindows of cspace are "watched" and downloaded. If there is an IP attached, and the file is not known by peers, then the buddy is only loading from me, and other are not swarming, because they do not know, but they could, due to the golden rule. If I want to send a ed2k link with my IP to a buddy, which is a file, which is already well know on the ed2k net, the ed2k link will swarm from peers and me. But: ***the buddy, which is recieving "ed2k links with my ip" can decide to swarm them from the public peer network or not [4] this option for the buddy then can disable the public peer network for downloading, though - as well here due to the golden rule - upload to other peers is allowed. Only the download from other peers this option should disable. Ok, if i really want a private transfer, then i need the second function in cspace: Transfering files 1:1 to a buddy. This is not done over the ed2k link in a chatwindow, but with the given transferpad. So.. this means: to integrate file "sharing" - next to transfering individuals file and folders and sharing them for lookups - we should have a seperate function in cspace which is called sending hashlinks with or without my IP in a chatwindow. All Sent links (accepted or not and public-peer-swarmign for each file or not) are then displayed in a second tab. So... it is easy: we need 3 tabs: - "Transfering Tab" (1:1 without swarming) - Shared folders Tab / "library TAB" - Hashlink-Tab for recorded hashlinks uploading and downloading: (here we do not use the "Transfer" Term, but maybe "Shared Partials Tab"). This means: 1. all partials /chunks in the "partials tab" are always uploadabe to peers and buddies, the user can disable the download from peers. 2. "Transfering tab" is only for 1:1 sending files without swarming. 3. "Libary tab" is browseable by every buddy in my list. If a user is browsing my library tab, he is able to copy out the ED2K link. This link then he can download by posting it into one of his chat windows (to **any** :-)))) buddy). So he needs to choose a chatwindow for positng them to get the download from peers (so ed2k link without ip). In best case, the buddy chatwindow is used, which is from the buddy, you download from, If you choose another buddy, then as well this buddy is downloading the file. Or able to. This trick will spread files in the public network and buddies of buddies are able to get the news and get partials as well.... So downloading from hostbrwosing is done not over transfer, but over the swarming peers network, which may find the buddy I get the link from. But if other peers have the file as well, i will swarm from them. Think this i a quite elaborated procedure, what do you think ?
