When our Friends' group was organizing it was written into the by-laws that one of the functions of the Friends was to purchase items that supported the Library's services to the community, example an Ellison machine and Dies for crafts and bulletin boards (I haven't bought this yet, but it has been approved). Also included in the by-laws was an audit before the new officers took over. Kim Adele Kroll Director Lena Armstrong Public Library P.O. An audit - nicely done of course. :-) http://www.ala.org/ala/alonline/currentnews/newsarchive/2008/may2008/las vega ssuesfriends.cfm Dawn Vogler Library Management Consultant Texas State Library & Archives Commission PO Box 12927 Austin, TX 78711-2927 (512) 936-4449 phone (512) 463-8800 fax _______________________________________________ slm mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.tsl.state.tx.us/mailman/listinfo/slm
