Hayes The term "narco democracy" is an insult hurled at Latin American countries by U.S. federal officials. In the field of psychology this is termed projection: seeing in someone else the negative characteristic one is emotionally unable to recognize as actually true about himself. The absolute truth is that the U.S. is the largest, most important narco democracy on planet earth. The DoD-CIA-DEA-FBI-Customs Mob is the General Motors of global drug production, distribution and marketing. This mob investigates itself when public reports appear and, of course, finds itself innocent of all charges. The war on drugs would be a farce if it were not so damned tragic in its effects on everything and every person it touches. No nation can survive on lies and wars with itself. Government abrogation of its social contract with the people is the road to disaster. The drug economy funds not only secret services that rape, pillage and burn all over the globe, it funds transnational banks and corporations. Can anyone even pretend that Mexico, etc., would be making payments on their loans from Wall Street banks without narco dollars? Nor would any of those narco dollars exist if there was not a market for drugs. No mass market could exist without the existence of mass production and distribution. Neither the Crips nor the Bloods has C-130's that can fly tons of drugs into the U.S. from all points of the compass and never be detected by U.S. government military or civilian agencies. Now, who could possibly run such a program? Obviously it is the government, and only the government, that can run the drug transport system. Want to see a real narco democracy? Look in the mirror, look in Washington, D.C., look in Wall Street, look into the FLEA's (Federal Law Enforcement Agencies). As Pogo was fond of saying, "We has met the enemy and he is us." The sanctimonious hypocrisy of the U.S. government "certifying" other countries as valiant drug warriors is such an absurdity it belongs in Alice in Wonderland or "Wag the Dog." The anti-Commie Cold War of government lies, spies and counter-insurgency around the world and here at home was institutionalized. This Moloch [definition: a deity who was propitiated by the sacrificial burning of children] can not be eliminated because it employs far too many people. Too many people have their careers, paychecks and world view at stake to simply say, "Wow, we won the Cold War! Let's shut down the imperial war machine, bring the troops home, stop pouring a quarter-trillion dollars a year into killing machines, and cut the 27-billion-dollar-a-year spook budget." No way could any "peace dividend" end up in Joe Lunchbucket's mailbox. To avoid the catastrophic consequences of victory and peace, new bogeymen had to be concocted. Roll out the "rogue nations," "narco democracies," "international terrorism" -- bring on the new wars on crime, drugs, terrorism, pornography, violence -- anything to save the money machine that pollutes the planet, destroys lives and corrupts every society. The war on drugs is the new pretext for precisely the same counter-revolutionary programs for killing the poor that were once justified by anti-Communism.
