This sounds pretty fucking terrifying. It means that for the rest of my
life, and for the rest of my kid's life, if we live that long, I have to live in
abject fear of an invisible, remorseless, unreasoning enemy who might attack
at any time with dirty bombs, chemical weapons, mininukes, not to mention
plain old car and truck bombs. And not even fallout shelters will make us any
safer.

That quote is from the 9/11 Commission report which Kerry believes is the New Gospel.

Remember, that same New York Times claimed that up until last week, Bush was opposed to both the idea of the Commission and their report. So, if Bush disagrees with the Commission Report and Kerry agrees with it, then the report MUST be true.

Sorry, I don't plan to live my life that way. As a Mennonite, I reject all
this crap. I talk to Muslims all the time. I'm no more afraid of Osama than I
am of Donald Rumsfeld, or the crazy erratic lunatic who now occupies the White
House. Or of Pat Robertson, who wants to blow up the State Department with a
nuclear device.

I know that John Kerry is not going to bring magical solutions, but he will
bring back an America that is not utterly isolated and totally paranoid, and
which doesn't view the world in the utterly Manichean terms with which the
present leadership does.

You may talk to Muslims here in the United States, but I doubt that you have ever talked to an Islamist, aka a Bin Laden or any of his followers. Have you ever talked to a Talaban? They are NOT representative of what the West understands or wants Islam to be.

For an interesting read see the new book by Bin Laden's Brother's wife:

You talk about being isolated and paranoid, but you are not ignoring the fact that these people declared a Jihad -- a Religious war -- against the West. You conveniently believe that they too are opposed to Bush, and that if he is gone, they will stop attempting to eliminate your religion and replace it with theirs.

Wake up. We are talking about a continuation of the Crusades here. Yes, a religious war. You can believe all you want that Bush was the first one to used the term -- but the Islamists (not to mention Yssar Arafat) were calling for Jihad long before the Bush the First was in office!

5 Christian Churches were blown up during Sunday services. A 6th was targeted, but the bomb failed to go off. NONE of those churches or worshipers were Americans, but they were non-Muslims.

Americans are terrified that Religion can be used as a call to war. They conveniently ignore the fact that only 300 years ago, the Ottoman Empire was knocking on the doors of Vienna.

The Islamists want one thing and one thing only -- the dominance of their 600+ year old version of Islam, a version of Islam that even the Ayatollah in Iran opposes. They do NOT want a return to the Islam of the Alhambra, they want the Islam that arose following the "decline" of the Alhambra.

Islam never had an Enlightenment, let alone a Reformation.

But the good news about all of this is, "Physical America" is not their target. The American Economy is. They are intent on destroying the Economic infrastructure of the West.

The other good news is that the House of Saud will fall. Probably within six months of a Kerry Election or within 12 months of a Bush election. America is being snookered into focusing on Iraq, when the Islamist's real goal is Saudi Arabia. Bin Laden has stated this numerous times.

The House of Saud continues to believe that they can simply continue to buy off the Islamists, and the Wahabbi version of Islam which supports him, as they have done for the past 30 years. (Remember, the attack in Rdyah was carried out by Zionists, not Islamists) Bin Laden happily takes their money while condemning them for their hypocrisy. He has proven that he can strike Saudi Arabia; next time it will force a regime change.

Remember what the Talaban did to the Buddhas? That is what Bin Laden will do to the Saudi Oil industry. We are talking about an Anarchist policy, not a simple "regime change."

Think about it. No more Saudi Oil available to the world (not just the US.)

Contemplate what that means.

It means the American Economy goes into instant depression.

The US imports 60% of its energy needs. 40% of those imports come from Saudi Arabia.

The so-called "strategic reserve" has a 30 day supply of oil. It is predicated on the assumption that oil supplies will be "interrupted" -- not eliminated.

Laudably, Kerry has proposed an "Apollo like" program to end American dependence on Saudi Oil. Regrettably we don't have 10 years. Even if we started today and built the Japanese designed "mini-nukes" over public opposition, it would take 3 years to build the first one. Yes, we have plenty of coal... but we have no mechanism to use it. It might be possible to re-convert existing power plants BACK to being coal fired over the protests of the environmentalists, but the coal is still in the ground and the infrastructure which once supported "King Coal" is long gone. ... Just as we can no longer return to the moon because the infrastructure which created the Apollo program is gone.

Of course all that infrastructure could be re-built... but how long will it take? How much "political" opposition by environmentalists and others will delay the start of any such actions... If Kerry is elected, makes the Energy sufficiency his TOP priority, and starts it running on January 21st, it is going to be 2 or 3 years, minimum, before any result is achieved... and that will only be if the Energy program simply utilizes existing technology, and cost is no object.

But suppose the House of Saud does fall and the Saudi Oil exports simply stop.

"Obviously" instant rationing will be declared. Target Number one -- no more gas for those guzzling SUVs. Cool! A goal which everyone agrees is a good idea. Oops. suddenly a huge portion of the US workforce can no longer go to work. Aha, they should use public transportation. Do you use public transportation today? Ever notice how many empty seats there are on the busses and trains during "rush-hour" today? Literally none. Public transportation is FULL. Ok, ignoring costs, we'll build more busses and trains. How long will that take? three months, six months, a year? I don't think there is even any capacity in the US to build trains or trolleys anymore ... they all seem to be imported from Japan or Korea these days.

Ok, so "essential uses" allow gasoline for people to go to work. That means that all of the people who man the stores in the King of Prussia Mall can go to work and talk to each other all day -- there is no provision for the customers to show up.

The impact, both immediate and long term, of the loss of Saudi Oil on the American Economy is virtually incalculable.

There is no question that Kerry would be willing to go to Paris to personally negotiate with the Islamists and Bush would not.

But remember Perl Harbor? The Japanese were negotiating with Roosevelt IN THE WHITE HOUSE, when the attack was started.

In the end the question is -- Does Kerry have a clue what is going on in the world? Or is he content to believe whatever his "secret foreign leaders" tell him, and to do whatever they tell him to do. After all, in all his war experience, he was a dutiful Captain, and did whatever the Admiral told him to do. He never had any strategic involvement.
