OK, that makes sense. I think there's value in having an option to
automatically copy the DLLs and the manifest in. I'd still like to offer
some guidance on who has the right to distribute it. The py2exe tutorial (
http://www.py2exe.org/index.cgi/Tutorial#Step5) says this about the Visual
C++ 2005 runtime (for Python 2.4-2.5):

    Generally you have the right to redistribute it if you own a license
for Microsoft Visual C++, but not if you use the Express Editions.

But it doesn't say anything similar about the 2008 runtime (Python >= 2.6)
- is it likely to be the same situation?
