It's rather unfortunate that this library is called FITS, since that makes it 
easy to confuse it with FITS.

FITS, as an archive-quality digital preservation standard, has been around for 
more than 30 years now, and is well known and broadly supported.  I wonder just 
how many petabytes of FITS format data there are in the world.

And if you do a google search for 'fits', four of the ten hits refer to the 
FITS standard.
