Bug#568827: Confirm

I can confirm this behavior after recent updates. 
I am running Deborah 0.3, which is Debian Squeeze with LXDE, tweaked for
the OLPC XO-1 laptop (Geode chip).
Other users at olpcnews.com (including the distro maintainer) have
reported the icons disappearing.

I will provide any information necessary to help fixing this, but I
