Submission by: Tavis Adibudeen <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Topic: The Coming of Man ************ Text: Friday Thoughts... All praise is due to Allah, Who created humanity from a single soul, and then created for it a mate. From them, He scattered countless men and woman over the earth. It is He who initiated creation and repeats it without tiring, without the need for preparation or experimentation. He simply says "Be" and it is. He creates man in a humiliating state in the form of a fertilized egg. It is helpless even when it finally emerges from its mother's womb. We come into this world prostrating before Allah, Majestic and Sublime, and He has enjoined on us that we leave in a similar state. The first man was unrefined, innocent, and without knowledge of right or wrong, good or evil, life or death. Allah, in His supreme Mercy, showered the man with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding. The descendants of the first man, benefited from this and elevated themselves and their progeny until Allah raised a man who was the perfection and completion of His plan. He deputed the Prophet Muhammad, upon whom be peace and blessings, as a Mercy to all of humanity. He gifted him with revelation unlike any eloquence or poetry that had ever graced the ears of human beings before him. He, the Most High, commissioned the Prophet to warn the people of a grievous chastisement, as idolatry swept the land, sinister deeds were commonplace, and rejection of Faith a sign of prominence. The Messenger of Allah, upon whom be peace, called on the people to worship only Allah, but their haughtiness consumed them, their greed overtook them, and their suspicion drove them to disbelief. Allah, highly glorified and exalted, commanded the Prophet to fight the people (in their hearts) until they testified that there is but one God, Allah. Truth prevailed over falsehood, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and righteousness over misguidance. The people enjoined good deeds and forbade evil deeds. They worshiped the Almighty in the early mornings, in the afternoons, in the mid-day, in the evenings, and at night. Their ears were open to the revelation that was recited to them, and their hearts were open until many had memorized it in its entirety. The revelation is the Criterion. Its words are eloquent, its claims undeniable, its inerrancy unanimous, and its verdicts are clear. Allah bestowed it on humanity for the benefit of all whose ears it graced, whose eyes it captured, and whose hearts it softened. Through it, criminals found solace, evildoers found peace, the ignorant found knowledge, the weak found strength, the haughty found humility, the mentally dead found life, and the blind were given sight. When the revelation was completed and when the Prophet had fulfilled his mission, Allah made the Word like wind that scatters seeds across unknown lands. Soon the entire peninsula lived by a single phrase, la ilaha il-Allah. But Allah's message was for all people, and the seeds spread throughout the world. Every shade of skin, every form of language, every nationality, ethnicity, and race; every size and shape, every personality type. All are represented under this phrase. No enemy can divide them. No oppressor can overcome them. No speaker can silence them. No material wealth can persuade them from righteousness. No hunger can drive them to evil. No suffering can lessen their faith. No army can defeat them. Their Lord is One. Their Prophets are One. Their Books are One. Their Message is One. Their Ummah is One.
