deported leaders to Jordan and for an end to that crisis in the interest of both Hamas

LONDON: Saddam Hussein began the Gulf War ten years ago today (Wednesday) when he 
launched his forces across the desert into Kuwait. Officially, the war ended seven 
months later. Yet last week British and US planes were in action over northern and 
southern Iraq, as they have been for the past year and were the year before that.

Al-Hayat: Clinton Affronting 1.2bn Muslims

Tehran - The U.S. President Bill Clinton has affronted 1.2 billion Muslims of the 
world, said the Arabic-language daily Al-Hayat. 

Clinton has in fact reminded the forgetful Muslims that he is their real enemy, it 
said adding, the U.S. tries to impose it economic, political, and military domination 
over the Middle East through Israel. The apex of Clinton's shamelessness was his 
stupid statement about paying compensations to Israel for the return of the 
Palestinian refugees, it added.

China continues executions of Uigur Muslims, West is happy to turn a blind eye

China executed three more Muslims in Urumqi, the capital of East Turkestan (officially 
Xinjiang province), early last month, after a kangaroo court found them guilty of 
"separatist and terrorist crimes". At least 20 Muslims have now been executed on 
similar charges since the end of March. Three other Muslims were also executed on the 
same day for non-political crimes, but they may also have been Muslim mujahideen 
involved in Chinese-occupied East Turkestan's struggle for freedom from China.

MOSCOW, July 28: Russia is negotiating with Chechen leader Aslan Maskhadov over the 
nine-month conflict in the breakaway republic - but only to negotiate his surrender, 
senior Kremlin officials said on Friday. 

"Negotiations are going on not just with Maskhadov, but with all those who want 
peace," said General Viktor Kazantsev, President Vladimir Putin's personal envoy to 
the north Caucasus region.

CAIR-NET: Minnesota County Approves Interest-Free Real Estate Contracts

(MINNEAPOLIS, MINN., 7/21/2000) The Hennepin County (Minn.) Board of 
Commissioners has unanimously approved a real estate contract that 
permits interest-free purchase of tax-forfeited properties. The 
initiative was sponsored by the Minnesota chapter of the Council on 
American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a Washington-based Islamic advocacy 
group. (Islamic beliefs prohibit dealing in interest.)
