With the Name of Allah, The Merciful Benefactor, The Merciful Redeemer

All praise is due to Allah, Whose proof of existence is in His creation,
Whose sovereignty is over all that exists, seen and unseen, Whose Knowledge
is superior to all, and Whose Power is over all things. May the peace and
blessings be upon His beloved Messenger, Muhammad, the final Prophet, and
seal of Prophethood; and upon his noble family and descendants, upon his
righteous companions, and upon his loyal followers.

When Allah deputed the Holy Prophet (saaws), He bestowed on the Prophet's
Ummah a qibla (direction) for prayer towards which His servants faced daily
during their prayers. In this way, all the Muslims were unified, facing
towards a central point with their intentions and minds focused on serving
Allah. This first qibla was Al-Aqsa, the masjid in Jerusalem. Eventually,
the qibla was changed to Masjid-al-Haram in Makkah to test the Muslims in
their faith and sincerity.

Allah says:

"Thus have We made of you an Ummah justly balanced. That you might be
witnesses over the nations, and the Messenger a witness over yourselves;
and We appointed the Qibla to which you were used, only to test those who
followed the Messenger from those who would turn on their heels (from the
Faith). Indeed it was (a change) momentous, except to those guided by
Allah. And never would Allah make your faith of no effect, for Allah is to
all people most surely full of Kindness, Most Merciful." (2:143)

Eventually, the land of Al-Quds was delivered into the hands of Muslims
under which the people enjoyed security and unity. Justice continuously
prevailed despite stiffness of trial and numbers of adversaries.

Jerusalem is a city sacred to two other groups other than Muslims: the
Christians and the Jews. For years, these two groups lived under the
khilafah and enjoyed their own equal rights and fair treatment. In fact,
many of the best scholars and scientists from Judaism and Christianity came
out from within the boundaries of the khilafah.

Only with the advent of Zionism did Palestine suddenly become an exclusive
"right" to only the Jews. The Zionists used this new, sectarian, racist
concept to motivate their allies and gain the support of military giants,
such as the United States. What formed was a racist, militarist, criminal
war machine called Israel that plundered the sacred land and slaughtered
thousands of innocent Muslims. The Arab world resisted for a while, but
the western world continued and still continues to offer their financial
and political support to the Zionist war machine.

Under the oppressive regime, people eventually got involved in worldly
occupation, their goals became centered on nationalism, and their deeds
were for other than the service of Allah. It is a pattern that has
blanketed the Muslim world, and for this reason Muslims continue to be the
subjects of oppression, discrimination, and murder.

Muslims must now answer the call to jihad, cast off their differences,
leave off the sickness of nationalism, and join hands with the brothers and
sisters in Palestine who are suffering at the hands of the Zionist regime.

We should fight in the cause of Allah, with our hands, our money, our
voices, and our prayers. Whatever means of resistance we have, we must use
those means to bring justice back into the world, insha'Allah. In order to
do this, however, our intentions must be sincerely for the service of
Allah. If our intentions are for Arab nationalism, for political power,
for material gain, or for any other worldly treasures other than Allah, we
will inevitably fail.

Allah has promised the believers victory if they worship and serve only
Him.

"The believers must (eventually) win through,-" (23:1)

"As to those who turn (for friendship) to Allah, His Messenger, and the
(fellowship of) believers,- it is the hizbullah (party of Allah) that must
certainly triumph." (5:56)

"When there comes the help of Allah and the victory, And you see people
entering the religion of Allah in crowds, Then celebrate the praise of your
Lord, and ask His forgiveness; surely He is oft-returning (to mercy)."
(110)

The Islamic Unification Movement supports the efforts of our Muslim
brothers in Palestine to remove the oppressive Zionist regime and open the
doors of Al-Quds once again to the religion of Allah, which is al-Islam.
Our prayers are with those brothers and sisters, children and elderly who
have been martyred fighting for their freedom. fa inna-lillahi wa inna
ilayhi raji'oon (Surely we come from Allah and to Him we shall return.)

"Think not of those who are slain in Allah's way as dead. Nay, they live,
finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord" (3:169)

So, let us unite and take back what belongs to Allah, that with which Allah
has entrusted us to guard and honor its sanctity. Let us liberate Al-Aqsa,
liberate Al-Quds, and liberate the Muslims in Palestine.

"And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for
you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude
Allah's favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in
love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of
the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make His Signs
clear to you: That ye may be guided. Let there arise out of you a band of
people inviting to all that is good, enjoining what is right, and
forbidding what is wrong: They are the ones to attain felicity."
(3:103-104)
